Job Title: Underwriting Assistant
As an Everest Underwriting Assistant, you will support the Underwriting department as part of the Operations Underwriting Support team, delivering accurate risk assessment, record keeping, and reporting.
We are hiring multiple Underwriting Assistants to join the Everest Operations team in Madrid. You will provide excellent service to our clients, collaborate closely with Underwriting teams, and ensure precise risk entry, record keeping, and reporting. Successful candidates will be aligned with one of our lines of business, such as Property, Marine, Aviation, Surety, Casualty, Energy, Financial Lines, or Accident & Health (A&H) underwriting teams. You will support these areas across various European countries, including Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities:
Summarize slip terms and conditions, calculate premiums and exposures, and ensure complete and accurate entry of submissions, quotes, risks, endorsements, and transactions into the Everest Underwriting System(s), ensuring proper management, statistical, and regulatory reporting.
Perform data checks to verify the accuracy of underwriting data and ensure correct entry within our systems.
Produce Wordings and Endorsements upon request from the Underwriter within the 5-day SLA, using relevant templates. Once approved, send policy documents to the Broker and address any queries.
Store all risk information and correspondence in the document repository to maintain a comprehensive audit trail of business activity.
Ensure all relevant underwriting information is included for peer review, risk entry, and data checking within designated timeframes.
Index and update electronically submitted underwriting information within specified timeframes.
Maintain tools with key underwriting information to support compliance sanctions, fraud, and financial crime checks pre-bind and post-bind monitoring.
Assist underwriters during the underwriting process, and support management information production, business development, and marketing efforts.
Provide administrative support to underwriters and the Operations team, including credit control, data quality, and training.
Support other underwriting classes of business as needed.
Perform any other ad hoc tasks as agreed with Operations Coordinators and the Operations Manager.
Adhere to Everest's target operating model, policies, and procedures, updating practices as needed.
Experience Required:
Minimum of 2 years of insurance experience.
Fluent in Spanish.
German language skills are preferred.
