The Position
Translation Process & Linguistic Data Specialist (m/f/d)
Global Customer Support (GCS) is the global organization responsible for Technical Services in the Diagnostics Division, which ensures end user success. GCS supports the service organizations of the Roche affiliates and the Lifecycle Teams.

Within Knowledge & Learning Excellence, we deliver the right content at the right time via the right channels for our customers to enable error-free operation of our products. We use multilingual data to improve the customer experience with our digital service solutions and products. We ensure that internal knowledge is curated and spread across all customer areas, and efficiently and properly prepared for our customers.
Within the Language Operations subchapter, we take care of all aspects related to terminology, translation, localization, language models, and source language governance. To do what really matters, we are in close contact with our stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Main Responsibilities:
Define and govern best practices for translation activities.
Define and govern best practices for software internationalization and localization.
Manage the overall coordination and governance of translation vendors and monitor their operational activities.
Be the main point of contact for translation vendors and internal stakeholders for translation- and localization-related topics and questions, as well as for linguistic data analytics.
Support and monitor the translation and localization process and the specialized tools, and constantly shape the data sources to fulfill business needs.
Collect input for terminology and translation updates, and produce these updates in close cooperation with the subject matter experts and project teams.
Ensure in the area of expertise that quality targets, timelines, and regulatory requirements are respected.
Assure a smooth exchange with translation vendors and with the affiliates with regard to terminology, style guide, language-specific information, etc. and support them in harmonizing translated terms.
Drive activities together with various stakeholders to improve content performance and improve customer experience in Roche target languages.
Propose corrective actions to improve translated content units to increase customer experience.
Define, report, and monitor KPIs for translation quality and translation vendor performance as well as for the Language Operations improvement process. In case of deficiency, work with stakeholders for corrective action.
Collaborate with the global teams/Product Owners on multilingual data driven insights to make strategic and customer-centric decisions.
Additional Tasks:
Support initiatives and projects within the DIA organization and GCS, and contribute to knowledge sharing and achieving the “one Roche” approach.
May own guiding documents.
Can support the localization of terminology in close cooperation with the country organizations.
Define and implement concepts to ensure the linguistic quality in target content.
Present and advertise the translation setup and Language Operations concept to stakeholders.
To be successful in this role you bring:
University degree (master's) or certificate from an adequate institute in translation studies, linguistics, computational linguistics, or technical communication.
Fluently in English, one additional “Roche” language required and additional languages beneficial.
Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
Experience in translation management and technologies, as well as machine translation.
Experience in software internationalization and localization.
Experience in stakeholder management.
