About Hevy

Hevy is a free weight lifting workout tracker that lets athletes intuitively log their workouts, track progress with insightful analytics, and be part of a growing community of gym athletes. Our journey began in 2019. We were not satisfied with the existing workout trackers on the market, so we decided to build a more complete platform that allowed users to interact with their friends. Since then, we’ve been building Hevy thanks to the amazing community. Our mission is to make humanity stronger by providing gym athletes the tools to become more successful at reaching their fitness goals.

Position

Hevy is looking for a Lead React Native Developer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll take on technical leadership, helping to architect, develop, and scale our mobile apps. You’ll tackle our most complex engineering challenges, improve system performance, and collaborate closely with product managers and designers to shape the future of Hevy. We’re a small, fast-moving team supporting millions of users, so your work will have a massive impact on both our product and our users. You’ll build at scale across i OS and Android ensuring it remains robust and high-performing as we continue to grow.

What You’ll Do

Lead and contribute to the development of our React Native app

Architect scalable solutions, improving system performance and reliability.

Mentor and support other engineers, fostering a culture of growth and technical excellence.

Own projects end-to-end, from technical planning to execution.

Work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver new features and refine existing ones.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience building React Native mobile apps.

Deep understanding of at least one of the native platforms (i OS/Android).

Tech Leadership experience.

Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of solving technical challenges at scale.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
