About the Role
We are seeking an experienced MS SQL Developer to support a critical initiative focused on data modelling, data lake integration, and BI enablement. This is a freelance opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects in a global environment that values scalability, clean architecture, and data-driven decision-making.
You will work closely with internal engineering, cloud, and BI teams to design and implement robust, secure, and scalable SQL solutions across several brands and product lines.
Responsibilities
Design and maintain complex data models to support enterprise reporting and analytics needs.
Develop and optimise T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions.
Collaborate with BI and data lake teams to ensure smooth data flow from various sources.
Participate in data lake architecture design and ensure alignment with governance and compliance standards.
Support the migration of legacy data solutions to cloud-based environments (Azure / GCP).
Work with internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data models and pipelines.
Ensure performance tuning, scalability, and reliability of SQL environments.
Skills & Experience
Strong experience as an MS SQL Developer with advanced knowledge of T-SQL.
Proven experience with data modeling, ETL development, and integration with BI tools.
Familiarity with data lake architectures (e.g., Azure Data Lake, GCP Big Query) and cloud platforms.
Experience integrating with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent.
Understanding of Dev Ops workflows, especially in Terraform and Git Hub Actions, is a plus.
Excellent communication skills; ability to work with distributed teams.
Nice to Have
Exposure to headless CMS, composable architecture, or modern web stack projects.
