As a Staff Security Engineer within our Cyber Security Tribe, safeguarding Back Market's information assets is our primary goal. Our Sec Ops team manages Security Architecture & Engineering topics, as well as actively monitoring, responding to, and remediating incidents.
Your role is pivotal within our organization, offering opportunities to shape our security architecture and stack, and to enhance the security of our web and app environments. As a domain expert and advocate of cybersecurity best practices, you will be:
Leading efforts to continuously improve the company's security posture, ensuring resilience to threats.
Guiding and executing large, complex projects, driving technical vision and security architecture, fostering collaboration, and communicating effectively to impact organizational tech quality and growth.
Identifying blockers to organizational efficiency and advocating for effective remediations.
Focusing on high-impact, critical, and future-facing decisions.
Supporting managers to ensure proper delegation, decision-making, and information flow.
Supporting and advising technical teams, automating security controls, improving our security framework, mentoring fellow Security Engineers, and leading the design, build, and operation of scalable security solutions.
Monitoring security alerts and events to identify threats, investigating incidents, analyzing breaches, collaborating on threat intelligence, and maintaining incident response procedures.
Defining best practices to address security challenges, aligning company goals with minimal effort.
What we're looking for :
At least 10 years of experience securing web services in dynamic cloud environments.
Proven experience as a Security Engineer / SOC analyst with cross-team influence.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, techniques, and best practices.
Ability to facilitate and balance product and engineering concerns, including sustainability.
Experience planning and executing large, complex projects with interdependencies.
Collaborative skills to work with leaders across the company for maximum impact with minimal resources.
Commitment to security automation and secure development lifecycle, including scripting and tool development.
Ability to conduct Security Requirement Analysis and propose cybersecurity architectures.
Expertise in threat intelligence, attack patterns, vulnerability analysis, and remediation.
Knowledge of edge protection technologies, SIEM tools, network and endpoint security technologies.
Passion for cybersecurity, hands-on, eager to contribute code.
Curiosity, rigor, and openness to exploring new methods and technologies.
Strong communication skills in English, with transparency and teamwork.
Recognition by certifications like CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, GCTI, GDSA, CSA CCSK, BTL2, or willingness to obtain them.
Interest in a challenging environment with technologies like GCP, Kubernetes, Argo CD, Terraform, Datadog, Cloudflare, Chronicle, Github, Circle CI.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Type Script, Golang.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
